Well you may think 6-0 says it all...easy game?! Diggle struggled in the first half although chances were coming thick and fast towards the Shepley goal but nothing was hitting the back of the net.

Matt T. has been in great form this season and he showed his class yet again. A corner from Martin was poorly cleared from the Shepley defence only to land to Matt T. 20+ yards out from goal, Matt hit the ball on the volley (a bit scuffed) but it managed its way through a crowd of players and in the back of the net...1-0!

During this time Glen came close but a fine, fluke save from the goalkeeper denied him. Matt P. Taylor also came very close but again the keeper made a finger tip save and Matt P. Taylor saw his chance hit the post.

Going forward Diggle did look somewhat comfortable and in defence Cheetham, Thornton, Kelvin and Macca were solid!

Half time 1-0 to the Diggle FC!

After some mean talk from the gaffa, Diggle were up for it...better late than never, they saw another 5 well taken chances hit the back of the Shepley net.

First up was Woody. A corner from Martin was cleared but only to give him a second chance to pick out Woody, timely met and hit bang on target Woody beat the keeper at his front post with a deadly touch...2-0!

Having a great game at right back Ben Macca popped up out of nowhere! Another whipped in corner from Martin was again not cleared and Macca smashed the ball into the roof of the net. 3-0!

After having a long spell with the first team at left back Martin Mayall was back in his most threatening position on the wing. A brilliant defence splitting pass from Matt T. saw Martin through with 3 defenders very close by and the keeper to beat, with a cool head Martin chipped the ball over the keeper and into the net...4-0!

Chances were flowing, even with a poor referee, Diggle wanted more! Ste Scolly had a couple of chances, one chance in particular he should have made his mark but decided to hit his shot wide. (Better luck next time).

Matt P. Taylor is another individual who has been in great form and scoring goals for fun. A ball pushed up field deep into the Shepley half was met perfectly by Matt P. Taylor to hit first time on the volley, across the keeper and in the bottom corner...5-0! Soon after a mistake in defence saw Matt P. Taylor in front of goal again with only the keeper to beat...keeper had no chance, it was smashed into the back of the net!

Shepley 0-6 Diggle!

Danny Tomlinson, Chris Thornton and Matt Taylor played excellent. Danny Cheetham deservedly got M.O.M. - completely solid in defence. He was brilliant in the air, won every 50/50 tackle.

Not forgetting Gaz McWatt who didn't have too much to trouble in goals but provided the team with brilliant kicking & bossed his box!...a job well done.
